Lady Bears Advance to Regional Semi-Finals

     The Lady Bear Softball team is on fire. With a big playoff win against the Barbers Hill Lady Eagles under their belts, the team will advance to the Regional Semi-finals this weekend.

     The Lady Bears defeated Barbers Hill in a 3-game series, winning the first game 6-0 and then clenching the series with an 8-3 victory in the final game. The Lady Eagles won the second match, 4-1.

Lady Bear Softball Captures Title, Prepares for Playoffs

     After capturing the District Championship last week, the Lady Bear Softball team is now preparing for the first round of playoffs.

     The team tied with the Nederland Lady Bulldogs for the District title in a close match-up last week.

Poetry and Prose Students Barely Miss State Meet

     Among the many students who represented LCM at the 4A Region III Academic meet this past weekend were seniors Aaron Alford and Emily Dodd.

     Alford advanced to the Regional level after placing first in Poetry at the District meet held in Lumberton last month. Dodd placed second in Prose at District, also advancing her to the next round of competition.

Lady Bear Golfer to Compete at State Tournament

     After a successful season of victories, senior Brooke Brasseaux will soon get the chance to show off even more of her golf skills at the State tournament held in Austin.

     She advanced to the State meet after shooting a 76-74 to finish in a tie for second at the 4A Regional Golf Tournament at Reven Crest Golf Course earlier this month.

Varsity Soccer

     The Varsity Soccer team has had a great season so far with a record of 3 and 2 in district play. They have faced tough opponents, but thus far the hardest team has had Vidor. The team’s best win has been over Central, they have one of the best teams in the district and the boys took them to a shootout and won.

Schoppert Leads the Battlin' Bear Band

Ryan Carline Signs with MMI

     For senior Ryan Carline, baseball is more than just a game. When the season is over and most of his classmates are packing up their bats and gloves for good, Carline will be starting a whole new journey.

     He recently signed to play baseball for the Marion Military Institute in Alabama. Carline said he chose to play for MMI because of the scholarship he was offered, as well as the nice facilities and campus.
